Hard Cider Poached Pears with Ice Cream

























Hard Cider Poached Pears

Serves 4-6



What you will need in the pot:

4-6 slightly under ripe pears, peeled
3 C hard pear cider (or any Autumn hard cider favorite)
¾ C sugar
3 strips, orange peel
3 strips, lemon peel
1 cinnamon stick

Toppings after cooled

Your choice of ice cream
Whipped cream for topping 
Dark Chocolate for shavings

Here we go..

1.    Place all ingredients into a pot with a lid.   Bring to a steady simmer. 



      Place lid slightly ajar and simmer 35-45 minutes or until pears are easily pierced to the core with a paring knife.  Let cool place in fridge to cool.


2.       Cut pears into halves and remove core before serving or leave whole. Put a few scoops of your favorite ice cream in the bowl along with whip cream and shave a few bits of chocolate for the top. Then Enjoy!!!
